Hey yall! I’m new to leca substrate and looking for advise on if moving my pothos water propagations to leca is a good idea or not as a further step. The roots are huge so that’s not the problem, I just don’t know if they will grow well/better now that they have developed, in that substrate. Any advise on leca in general? I’ve seen people say put it in glass jars?
Pothos do excellent in Leca! Propagations will have an easier transition by far in comparison to just switching a soil potted plant. Just make sure you wash the Leca very well (do it outside, you don’t want clay grime in your pipes) and soak for a an hour or two. You could just do a glass jar or you could do the Leca/plant in a pot with a ton of drainage holes and put that in a larger pot that acts as your water reservoir. Just make sure the water only comes up about 1/3 in length; you don’t want to submerge the roots completely in the water when using Leca.
