I got this syngonium in water three weeks ago. I ended up having to remove a lot of the roots because they were rotten. I recently rechecked the roots and many were very soft and smelly. I was wondering if anyone has tips on how to stop root rot?
It’ll be very hard to stop what’s already rotting. I would cut it off completely above the rotting level, leave some of those aerial roots, let it callous over for a bit and then put back into water with the healthy nodes/aerial roots submerged. I change my water out every 7-10 days and give the roots a gentle rinse to remove any algae or old roots. But others might have better suggestions!
