Hi everyone! I picked up this Autograph Tree (Clusia rosea) from Lowe’s about a week ago. Today, I removed the sponge it was growing in and found what looks like root rot. How much of the damaged roots should I cut off, and what’s the best way to treat this? I’m new to semi-hydroponics, so any advice on recovery and future care would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Cut off all damage until you see 100% clean roots with sterilized scissors. Unfortunately it looks like it got to the stem, so it may be unsaveable. If the stem is mushy at all cut until you see no more necrotic plant matter
