    I think you made the right choice for this glorious Alocasia 🙌🏼 I started mine with the exact same setup as yours & it went really well at first, but it quickly became a pain. Switching to containers with reservoirs where the water can run through the inner pot was definitely the right call for me. I’ve been slowly converting most of my collection to either Naked Root pots or these awesome Amazon pots. A guy in another post recommended a brand called Wavyleaf & those pots were really pretty.

    These are the Amazon pots. The other 2 are easy to search if you aren’t already familiar 😊

      I have pretty similar clear pots for almost every other plant I have, just not with the self watering basins. I’m still scared of root rot because that’s been my biggest issue is new plants coming with some root rot and I can’t stop it no matter what measures I take, so now I’m afraid of causing it myself. Although I do have 2 self watering planters from Lowe’s that have been doing perfectly fine so maybe I should try those next
