I have typically never had a problem rooting pothos, though I recently cut up a big plant after a mealy infestation and several of the stems actually rotted in the water? No roots ever grew either. Even when I had nodes under the water. Any ideas why this happened?? I was so sad, 75% of the plant ended up dying :( don’t want it to happen again!
Propagations are much more successful if the plant is healthy and in good condition. Many pieces might have already been too compromised by the mealies :( make sure to pest prevent and check often!

Yes, I agree with Anya. I’m pretty sure mealy bugs eat by sucking the juices out of the plant, so not only are they taking vital nutrients cause, all those tiny incisions are openings for infection and rot. Sorry that happened to you! Always so sad losing a plant
