I transitioned one of my older calatheas into Pon yesterday. Was super stressed out trying to get all the compacted Coco coir off the roots. I couldn’t get it off the top part at all without destroying all the roots, so I just ended up leaving about 1/4 of its top compacted ball, and putting the rest in Pon around it. Really hoping it doesn’t rot! I’ve heard differing reports on how important it is to remove all substrate. But in this particular case (and i’ve transitioned dozens) i couldn’t do it without killing it. She seems to have unfurled her stress curl leaves since yesterday… so crossing fingers! 🤞🏻
