Progress Report on my Big Tank build and the plant life in it… I almost killed my purple waffle in the shift from the 10 to the 45 when I didn’t put her roots in the catch bucket and she dried out overnight before I found her later the next day. Thankfully, an aquarium set up is a perfect rehab spot and she’s perked back up. Non aquatic plants I’ve added so far are my monkey mask monstera, a ton of baby peace lilies, several golden pothos props, a syngonium, two heart leaf philos, a piece of my Micans Philo, purple waffles, my lemon lime Philo cutting, and a pothos NJoy. Still to be added is my maranta and my anthurium. Possibly some others as I’m now working on the Bog to filter the waterfall feature. My top water fish are absolutely loving the root systems to swim through and my snails and shrimp are keeping them healthy and rot free. It really does show how nature finds its own balance combining aquatic and land life like this… definitely been a rewarding experience that’s taught me tricks to amp up my green thumb.
