I did a thing! I got this Begonia Ferox about 2 weeks ago and she was NOT thriving, even with humidifiers on for half a day. I’m in the UK and our heating has just gone on which means the humidity has tanked. Her leaves were going black (I have had to prune half of them). So… I did this, as the ones I found to buy on the internet were pretty 💸. Hoping it helps others with humidity concerns! This is a basic aquarium (from a pet store), using the cardboard lid from the box it came in (wrapped in masking tape to stop it rotting). The cardboard meant that I could make a hole for an external air vent cover, a mini fan (designed for a reptile tank I think, and strapped to the air vent so it circulates new air) and two strip grow lights. Hoping it works! Humidity in there is hovering around 90 but there isn’t condensation which I think is good…? 🤞🏽

Finally consolidated some albos today after 2 years of neglect 😌🫶

My two fairy-sized plants 1: Hedera helix “abundance” (miniature ivy) 2: Ficus pumila “quercifolia minima” (creeping oak ficus) Both are quite new to my collection. I’m hoping to keep them alive and healthy and use some of their clippings for new terrariums!

Hi extremely sorry for the question… I thought my silver inch was in good shape but in recent days one of the stem suddenly became twisted and started to dry off. And this morning it just easily got ripped when I was trying to lift it up a little. I am concerned bc I had four branches in the pot and this is the second one that suddenly breaks off. May I ask what might be the problem and how am I to fix the situation. Thank you!
