I bought this Croton months ago it wasn’t in great shape but not horrible either . I am finally getting new growth & I’m just wondering from any of your guys experience are the new leaves starting as all green normal or do I need to do something different . The colors might look weird in this pic but they are vibrant in person & I know I need to wipe them down which is tomorrow’s chore. I have it with grow lights so it’s getting plenty of light . I’m just curious about the baby leaves .

I heard somewhere to cut leaves that are smaller because they are draining the energy from the plant. I don’t know if my monstera needs that… any thoughts? I want her to be lush and healthy. Maybe just add a support for that stem? Thanks!

hi everyone! i have what i believe to be an alocasia regal shields. when i bought it 3 weeks ago, it was labeled as an elephant ear plant (which can apply to many different types) the first pic is shortly after i purchased the plant and repotted her. i have since cut off two leaves, one of which was drooping and the other was damaged and beginning to droop. i did this to hopefully promote new growth. also, i removed 10+ corms when i repotted her i noticed a few days ago a new leaf was growing. when i checked on her today, i noticed that this may actually be a flower? i’ve never had one of my foliage plants flower so i’m unfamiliar if 1. this IS a flower and 2. if i should let it flower i’ve seen conflicting things online. some people say that this is a sign the plant is happy and healthy, but others are saying that a plant will flower instead of putting out new leaves if it thinks it’s going to die for context, i live in NE FL. it sits in front of my apartment which is west facing, gets plenty of indirect to direct sunlight, and is also covered by a small roof. i sometimes move her in front of the roof when i know it’s going to rain that day.

Hello, Got these two fiddle leafs today from a friend. Wanted to chop the top off and propagate since the stem is very bare on the bottom section. Any advice? Unsure of where to chop since theirs two stems coming off a single trunk. Also will chopping the top and cutting off the bare stem kill the small baby at the bottom? Never had a fiddle leaf so any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!!

So I bought this Strelitzia last June form a garden centre. Zola was all beaten up and had powdery mildew. Anyways she’s settled in and produced around 6 new leaves and has 2 more on the go. The older leaves pictured are the now more damaged ones. While she’s producing new growth is it worth pruning out the old leaves and if so how far would I cut back?

I have this wonderful Alocasia which is doing well so far. One of my stems broke in transport 🥲 and im wondering how far I have to cut it down so the open stem doesn’t impact other leaves via bacteria etc. Any help appreciated 😊

My figgy girl needs some help!!! Almost two weeks ago, I adopted my aunt’s beautiful big fiddle leaf fig while on a road trip moving back to Michigan. My aunt had a stake in the pot, but I didn’t take it because Figgy didn’t seem to need it (and it couldn’t fit in my car!) She had to be in my car for 5 nights and on the second day a few of her leaves got burnt through the passenger window :( I waited to water her until I could get her out of the car August 19 and gave her a big drink. In her new home, she is a few yards away from my west facing window, where she mostly only gets strong evening light. All of her leaves are pretty crackly and feel dry. A few are still nice and glossy, mostly at the top. I dusted them all and have been trying to mist her everyday, but I was wondering if there was anything else I should do to help her rehab and regain her shine after her journey?

Why is my monstera getting yellow leaves? It’s in fairly bright indirect light and I water when it’s fully dry

Any ideas what I’m doing wrong here? I’ve had my monstera potted with this moss pole for about three months now and nothing has grown into the pole. I don’t see any aerial roots really developing at all. I’ve had a couple stems attached to the moss pole the whole time til and never any luck. Got a second pot/pole with another monstera and I’ve got the same result.
