Hello Planta friends! Picking up this fiddle leaf fig, my first, from FB marketplace tomorrow. Any care tips?
Hi guys! I just got an orchid today. I was told I should repot soon. Also, to water fully drenched and wait for water to fully drain for 15 mins. My goal is to have this as long as possible as it’s my first. Any other Tips?
First timer with clippings. Instructions were to leave in water til roots grew but they just look sadder everyday. What do I need to do?
Need help with my rubber plant! The top three leaves look the best, other than that the bottom leaves are all drooping. There’s new growth at the top and a sprout at the bottom but not sure how to revive the rest of the plant. I’ve had it since the summer and water per the app instructions since I’m not an intuitive plant owner. About 5 leaves fell off last week. I keep the windows open in this room all day and it gets decent sun but I’ve tried moving it around more to increase the sunlight. It’s cold here in Maryland and I wonder if that is affecting the leaves? Do I need to repot?
I’m new to this app & to having plants. I love being in indoor spaces that have lots of plants. So when I found this app, I decided I’d give it a go about a week ago & bought a 5’6” fiddle leaf tree — need to figure out how to help it create branches, a large snake plant that I divided into 4 pots, a majestic palm, a ponytail plant, an aloe Vera, and a small Kalanchoe Tiger succulent (that last one isn’t in Planta) I read elsewhere that it’s a better idea to put broken pottery over drainage holes than pebbles (plus rocks at the bottom below the soil only raises the water level in the soil). I had broken one of my favorite bowls they had been my father’s the day before I picked up my new plant babies & have put one piece of Daddy’s bowl over each drainage hole —- since it was a bowl, there are very few flat pieces — when I repotted them. It was a big bowl, so I have lots. I like this for sentimental reasons, but want to ask if this is a good thing to do?
Hello everybody! I am thinking about trying to propagate an avocado pit but have heard it can be rather difficult to successfully root… does anybody have any advice, tips, or tricks on how I can be most successful in getting the pit to root?
Is my monkey tail cactus okay? He sits in a south facing window, but I can’t quite tell if it’s too thin on the ends?
Looking for advice on my palm.. originally when I got her it was way too much direct sun, hence the burnt and cut fronds. I have been unable to get her to open up the 2 fronds in the middle. Since she’s outside, planta doesn’t tell me to mist but I’m wondering if I should to increase the humidity for her. Helppp
Looking for some advice/diagnosis for my Alocasia Micholitziana. She just gave me a really small leaf. She is not root bound but also not in a big pot, just tight enough the way Alocasias like to be. She is about 1 feet away from an East facing window, so she gets good direct morning light. My humidity has been around 60-65% on average. Any idea why it is giving me smaller leaves? 😭 I want big dark leaves!
how can i make my croton petra look fuller? the stalk is way overgrown but it's still producing new leaves at the very top.
My Christmas cactus started putting out these super thin leaves with recent growth. Wondering if it is a light issue? Or something else? I have moved to a higher light area but wasn’t seeing this issue before so curious if anyone has thoughts. Thank you!
I have a monstera and I know that they do best with a climbing pole but I’ve never set one up before. I’m not sure where I sound get one, I’ve looked at Lowes which is where I get most of my plant stuff. So how would I go about making one or where would I be likely to find to buy them?
my elephant bush has recently started getting these long leafless tendrils stretching towards my new grow light.. any tips on preventing it from becoming even more leggy?
I’m moving to a new place later this week. But it’s still cold where I live and I have very delicate plants, and lots of them. I would appreciate if you could share some ideas on how I should pack them up to protect them. ✌️
Do you have any ideas on what vegetables to grow in pots? 😃
How do you successfully root your ZZ? I’ve tried root riot without success and now trying ordinary water.
What type of plants are you drawn to? I have a thing for strange looking plants and lime mottled plants 🪴
