What kind of plant is this and how should I care for it? I know it looks awful, it was in the lowes clearance section.

It’s an alocasia it’s best to have a mixture of soil and orchid bark and they need lot of humidity and they’re very hard to take care of in my experience.

Actually look pretty good for an Alocasia!
1 likeUh oh, this doesn't sound good. Do you know what kind of alocasia it is?

0 likesNope just kidding it is a Alocaisa silver dragon
1 likeOk thanks, I thot it might be that but I wasnt sure. How much water do they need?
0 likesSeconding the Alocasia silver dragon. My best advice is make the change to semi hydro while it’s still relatively small. Semi hydro makes taking care of Alocasia much easier since they like to stay moist. Have my Alocasia all in semi hydro and it has made it much easier to take care of them.
1 likeTo be honest, I don't know what semi hydro is. Could you explain?

Check out some YouTube videos. Seems intimidating at first, but it’s actually easier in many ways. It’s growing without soil, using a water resevoir.
1 likeOk I actually searched it on some of these groups and it kinda sounded like a whole bunch more equipment and since I'm a 15 year old without a job I figured it would pry be easier to stick to soil. So far I've repotted it and separated the babies that had grown from corms, and it looks good.🤞
1 likeGood for you to have such an interest in plants. I have three and mine are in soil with perlite and orchid bark. I use an small humidifier and have wet pebble saucers that they sit on. So far so good for me but I have only had them a few months! Keep us posted, Abbi🙂
1 likeWeeeeell let's just say that I didn't run a humidifier for a couple of days so the the main plant is having a tantrum about that. But the babies r all doing fine(knock on wood).
