I bought this about a week ago in healthy condition (first picture) 2 days after bringing it home it started to yellow and it’s so sad. Any ideas of what could be going on? Any tips to help my baby thrive? Thanks.

If that happened I’m just 2 days I would maybe return it? Might not be anything you did… unless it was in the cold for too long or maybe completely overwatered? 2 days is such a short time though…. Overwatering (unless by the store) usually takes longer than 2 days to show its effects.

Looks like cold damage. How cold was it outside when you transported it? Cold damage can affect the plant even if it’s outside for a short transport and it takes up to a couple days to see it.

Did they have it outside where you bought it?

I wouldn’t think that would be cold enough for damage for a quick transport but if they had it outside at the nursery or outside while unloading off a delivery truck or any one of those scenarios in that temperature for a bit before you bought it, that could be the culprit. Unfortunately you’ll have to trim all of the dead leaves off which looks like it might be all of them. You’ll want to trim stems up to the healthy green parts too. The plant very well might not be able to bounce back at all but you can give it time to see if it will grow back from the root ball if the roots aren’t mushy or crispy. :(

I haven’t ever done it before but you might be able to trim off the dying part on the more green leaves of the stem still looks green and see if it didn’t continue to die further down. That way you do have some leaves to feed off the sun for chlorophyll.

Is that a black plastic pot inside? I’ve noticed a lot of these cache pot plants sit in water because the plastic pot isn’t long enough. I would check if there’s any free standing water in there
