Oh I did not even make the connection between foliage plants and the feeling of lushness! It's the specific aesthetic that I want either in my living room or office.. Could someone recommend me any good started foliage plants?

Any kind of Pothos is great. They’re easy to grow and grow fast. Also, turtle vine and Swiss cheese plant (Monstera deliciosa) I’ve found to be really nice.

Turtle vine sounds fun! I definitely want there to be vines for me to drape around my apartment for sure!

Syngoniums (Arrowheads) are affordable and come in many easy care varieties. The leaves transform when they have a pole to climb.

They definitely look great from a hanging basket. The have runner vines. The photo is my Syngonium Three Kings. It’s a narrow leaf variety. It needed more light. So, the gap between the leaf nodes are far apart. They are easily to propagate.

Philodendrons are amazing foliage plants. They usually all have similarish needs for the most part which are pretty simple. Part sun/part shade. Water when top inch is dry etc.

Oh good! I don't get the best light (I learned from this app's light settings 😅), so that's great! Thanks!

Seconding all of these! I'm also partial to indoor cyclamens and boston ferns. The first flowers as well, but in the meantime has gorgeous, silver-variegated, heart-shaped leaves. The second is very easy to care for and grows fast, with dramatic but soft arching fronds. Finally if you're looking for a pop of color and density, I'd look into Hypoestes (Polka dot plant) and Fittonia (nerve plant). Both have a wide variety of colors, are fairly easy to care for, and look fantastic!

What does variegated mean? Is that like when it has streaks of a color in the leaves?

Hypoetes is a cool word I'll have to wishlist that!

Yep! It's common in many species :D Hypoestes and fittonia are both also variegated. Some species of pothos (like 'Marble Queen' or 'Pearls n Jade') or other plants recommended here can also have variegation

What does a 'crawling plant' mean? Like, do the leaves droop over and it gives a sort of bug-like appearance? I havent heard that one before!

I’ve included some pictures, but a crawling plant just means that instead of growing up, the plant grows across the ground like in the picture :) They crawl to help extend their root system and to get them as close to the light source as possible. This is a gloriosum! It’s one of my favorites. It’s so gorgeous. And the leaves grow to be massive! Most of the plants that I have included, he leaves that grow to be 2 to 4 feet long! so even though they might not be as full as some plants, they will definitely fill in the space with the size of their leaves!

Dieffenbachia are pretty affordable for a big plant with lots of leaves!
