🖤quick question from someone new …what is a carnivorous plant?

I’m guessing like a Venus fly trap type of plant?!
1 me gustathey eat bugs! the bugs fall into the pitchers or traps, and then the plant dissolves the bug and intakes the nutrients since where they live native, the soil has no nutrients.

Oh wowww I kinda figured…. But now I want one🤣🖤 beautiful set up 👍🏼
1 me gustasarracenia are temperate, so they have to go dormant in the winter with the cold temps. nepenthes are tropical so they stay warm year round. several other kinds of carnivorous plants as well! i got into these over the winter buying a bunch of rhizomes off etsy. most are now waking from dormancy and growing their flowers before the traps come for the season!

Cool setups!! I haven’t tried carnivorous plants yet but pitcher plants are so cool. My stepmom has a fish pond and she grows them in floating planters
