To MIST or HUMIDIFY??? My humidifiers keep the humidity in my house in the mid to upper 50s. Should I be doing both misting AND humidifying? I am afraid of developing some kind of really nasty fungus if I do both. Comments? 💚🪴

Amie206I wouldn’t do both for exactly the reason you stated. I’m a bigger fan of humidifiers. They can run more consistently and if you adjust properly there won’t be standing water on the leaves

Thanks so much for your comment. I had just heard about this nasty gray fungus on a plant with too much moisture, and it gave me a scare! 😲

HeatherNo, just the humidifier will do wonderful. Some experts even say misting really doesn’t even do anything. They say you have to mist several times a day to give enough humidity.

I assume that’s good for all plants, right? Even those that like being dry?🤔 So, I shouldn’t continue to mist even the plants that are moisture loving? TXS.💚🪴

My plants that like “regular” humidity do just fine in the more humid air. I would just use humidifier and not both. Every now and then you could mist just to get the dust off and such.

I mist several times a day but that’s because I enjoy it. When I leave for a trip I have a humidifier that my house sitter refills once a day. I find misting is enjoyable because I can see what’s going on with my plants, but if that’s not your bag use a humidifier for sure.
