I inherited these poor neglected beauties and would like to save them. I know they need repotted. What's the best soil? And the ones with no roots.... do I try to start them in water or will they take if planted directly?

Snake plants are pretty hardy so you could just pot them up, especially since they're so big

1 likeI would just pot them up in a nice chunky soil mix. If you're putting them in what's pictured, you mayvwant to plant them in a plastic pot that fits, so they have drainage and then just make sure its not letting them sit in water. These don't like to stay to wet.
