Does anyone use a pebble tray for higher humidity plants? I’d like keep my cat palm happy! I know a humidifier or misting can help, but curious if a pebble tray will do the trick as well!

MikeNeedsMorePlantsIn my own research, I've heard mixed things about misting (cleans leaves but doesn't increase humidity) and pebble trays (radius of humidity increase is too small), but it can't hurt to try! If you buy a quality hygrometer you can even measure the humidity and make your own little experiment out of it.

Grouping a bunch of plants together can help, because plants release water into the air through transpiration. I ended up going the humidifier route in the end since it felt easier for me to manage (others might say otherwise). Your palm actually looks really healthy as is! If the leaves start to yellow or crisp up then I would ask myself if a humidity change is needed

Thanks! I’ve been seeing the same things - most spots say it can’t hurt to try the pebble tray. I might try it for a bit and see if I notice any differences

I would then encourage using a hygrometer, only because your plant is so healthy it might be hard to really tell if it helps or not. (Probably a good problem to have, lol). If you place it on the windowsill you can see how "high" the pebble tray reaches once you add it in
