Seguine is infested with thrips and I’m trying everything I can not to have to throw it out for the sake of my other plants so if any help is welcome! Got these off Amazon, hoping they work!

MalindaI’m having the same issue with my Alocasia stingray right now. I got it a week or 2 ago & im wondering if it had the eggs & they have just now hatched . I only saw them on one leaf & no other plants . Anyway this is what I’ve been using as of late . Seems to work well. You just give your plant a good spray like sit it in the shower type spray because you want to get it under the leaves in the soil ect & then let dry. Makes 2 quarts or 2 liters 1/4 c tea tree Castile soap 1/4 c peppermint Castile soap 1 tablespoon peroxide per 2 quarts water or 1 tsp per quart water 1 cup alcohol

I will definitely try this!! Does the peroxide and alcohol harm the plant at all?

Cup for both of the soaps . It makes a decent amount so I just do all my plants at once but you can get it back for 1 qt.

I’ve not had any issues so far . I’ve even used it on my purple passion plant which has softer leaves & it’s fine . My leaves are super shiny afterwards too It will kill the bugs & basically dissolve their eggs at the same time . I wouldn’t use more peroxide than what it says though since that could cause damage . If worried I’d maybe do a test leaf or 2 . I’m actually going to do another spray today . I wouldn’t bother to save any leftovers because the potency declines after time.

Kennytheplantgalpersonally the one I have had thrips, I completely hosed it off in the shower every single part of the plant under the leaves too, and I got captain jacks dead bug brew or spray and I couldn’t find any after 3 weeks. you have to do the rinse and spray every week but it worked for me

What kind of plants have you used it on so far ? Just curious if it’s safe for all . I’ve been wanting to try it. Do you happen to know if it’s pet safe ? I keep seeing non toxic but not specifically anything about pets .

i don’t believe it’s bad for pets or kids but with my curious dog i just let it dry in the shower just incase he gets curious. I know systemic is toxic to pets and kids but they dissolve pretty fast or you can mix it into the soil if you’re worried. (I just got some haven’t tried em yet but heard they’re great!)

I’ve also use this which is prob why my current thrip issue hasn’t seemed to affect any of my other plants. You sprinkle it in the soil& the plant soaks it up & causes the plant to be poisonous to the pests.
