Hi this is my first plant. I’ve just watered it and it’s come out a little yellow, is this okay? Also leaves have some cuts with red. Any tips or comments would be appreciated!

    Do you mean that the water that drained out of the pot was a little yellow? If so, this is normal. Potting soil is made up of a bunch of organic matter, and the water picks up some of that as it drains.

    You picked a good first plant. It looks like a dwarf umbrella and it’s very forgiving and a very fast grower. These photos are of the same plant about a year apart, and after I’ve pruned it for propagation .
