I know, I got it a couple months ago and it started growing so fast but then this happened 😥
1 likeLooks maybe pest related or overwatering how often do you waterfb

0 likesIt could be pest related, I doubt anyone could over water one of these though, I’ve had many and they need a lot of water.
1 likeYes but still I have overwatered plants that love water but yeah

I water it a soon the soil is dry

0 likesOh I have one of those! I’m not an expert by any means, but if I had to guess I’d say water it more. My silver inch plant in particular needs more water than any other plant I’ve had. I leave mine sitting in a bowl of water and just make sure it’s always full. It seems to work pretty well. My other types I just water every other day and they seem happy enough. It also might be that the leaves on these plants don’t age well. They’re the sort of plant you have to cut back or they start to look crusty. You might want to try trimming it back a little bit, the older leaves especially. I have a few inch plants and all of them grow very quickly, and lose leaves quickly. Honestly never had a plant so willing to just drop its leaves. I can pull 5-10 dead leaves off my plant in the stone pot every day and it’s somehow still the same size and fullness? They aren’t for the faint of heart. You can cut them back and then just shove the trimming back into the original pot to make it more full. You could also propagate it in a pot of water if you’re worried about the prop taking in just the soil. They prop really fast, so it shouldn’t have any problems. Ideally you cut and prop before the leaves start dying, but there’s no telling when that will be with these guys so good luck. If you wait you tend to end up with a bare stem and handful of leaves on the top. Again I’m really not an expert so it might be something else. I have killed my fair share of silver inch plants though so in my experience it’s usually water, (they can’t get enough of it) and their overwhelming ability to drop leaves and be fine.

Your plants are beautiful! I will water it a little more, I usually do it every time I feel that the soil is dry. I’ll do some cutting too. Is it easy to propagate? Thank you so much!
0 likesIn my experience yes, really easy. I’ve never had one fail. They also prop really quickly, and usually they don’t struggle being transitioned to soil. Typically I give them 2-3 weeks in water, but you could give them longer if you’re worried about it. Good luck with your plant!

I’m having same issue. My plant was huge(3’) and all of a sudden it started looking bad with dry tips and leaves. I’ve finally decided yesterday to trim it back and change the soil. I found that there was a white fungus looking something in the dirt. I’m so discouraged because she was so beautiful and I’ve had it for years and now I’m not sure she will survive.

Quick update: I’m still having the same issue, but it’s not as bad as in the pictures. I trimmed it a bit and gave her more water. My last option will be to change the soil—do you have any recommendations on what type I should use? Thank you!
