I have to keep all my plants in one room but am running out of indirect sunlight shelves. I currently have a sheer curtain I use to put between the window and plants but how important is that really? Now that the trees in front of the window have grown in, the sun is mostly filtered and only comes through about 3-4 hours a day? Could I put any in direct sunlight? I have a pothos, umbrella tree and monsera

What direction does the window face?

by direct sunlight, do you mean outside? monstera and pothos can both do wonderfully outside, they just need to be acclimated. if you have a screen on your window, it's already filtered and you can't get direct sun through it.

No inside but I don’t have a screen on my window. Online it says that when the sun passes in front of my window the light coming through is direct and should be avoided?

no screen means you get direct sun. west windows get afternoon light, which is stronger than morning light, but because those plants are already in that room you should be okay to move them closer to the window to free up space on the shelves
