Plant Hoarder 🌱

I have this beautiful prayer plant that was growing like crazy. It opened every morning and closed every evening. I didn’t look at for 2 days and now it is wilting, soft and doesn’t open. The watering/fertilizing has been on schedule. It has been 4 days and it still is limp. The limp photo has the stems propped by a chopstick and loose plant tape at the bottom. Otherwise it just lies limp. They are not dry or crispy. What happened? What can I do?

They love humidity, give her some pebble trays or get the humidifier out for her. They like 60-70%. Mine did this too, but she also has mealy bugs. So doing treatment baths, and increased humidity and my girl is getting perky again

This is definitely it ☝️ Aside from humidity trays, you can put it under glass or buy a mister/humidifier. Ikea has some cute little greenhouses you can buy.

Thank you. I think I have a dome. We do live in Utah which is not known for humidity.

Thank you! I found a nearby plant with mealy bugs. Saved Wahlberg and some others.

    Have you examined for pests?

I have. I actually decided to take her out of the tiny pot she was in from the nursery and even checked roots.

Thanks for this advice. I actually found a mealy bug infestation in a plant right nearby. I’m now treating a few other plants that would have been missed. This saved my favorite Hoya!!

The first photo shows green healthy leaf stems. The second photo shows dry brown leaf stems indicating it got too dry. The roots can dry rot to the point they can’t take up water. Consider taking cuttings of the healthy stems if the plant can’t hydrate anymore. 🪴🍀
