I really want to get a monstera. Where’s the best place to get a healthy one? TIA!

If you’re just looking for a regular monstera deliciosa, I would go to a local greenhouse or plant shop and check them out in-person. That’s the best guarantee in my opinion. Look for nice thick green leaves. Doesn’t wobble around in the pot. Isn’t sitting in soggy soil. You can even chat with the folks who work there Alternatively, I keep hearing a surprising number of people raving about the plants at Trader Joe’s, if you live near one of those 😂

Honestly love the Trader Joe’s plants. Every plant I’ve picked up there has been solid and is doing well still. I don’t see any monsteras at mine the other day but I have before. It’s always kind of a surprise what’s there but it’s worth a look!

Monsteras are very common and most nurseries and big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes sell them. Check carefully for pests under leaves, on the soil and under the pot.

At Lowe's or HD, watch for torn leaves. The way they come wrapped in paper, it hard to not tear a few. (I work in a Lowe's garden center. 😉)
