Can anyone help me with my fiddle plant? It’s finally growing back from the winter (I didn’t water enough) and some of the new leaves have these brown spots. No bugs.

    Red spots on fiddle leaf fig leaves are often caused by edema, which is a symptom of inconsistent watering. Edema occurs when a plant's roots absorb more water than the leaves can use, causing pressure to build up and the leaves' cells to burst. The dead cells appear as blisters or dark bruises that are 1–3 mm in size and are only found on new growth. Edema spots are red or brown in color, don't spread or get bigger, and don't leave holes. They will fade over time as the leaves grow out.

    Agreed with edema! My fiddle is mega healthy and producing plenty of lovely foliage covered in the spots. It takes quite a while but they grow out and became barely noticeable. Even with plants helping me maintains a consistent schedule she still gives me edemas leaves. Otherwise my fiddle hasn’t been a drama queen for me and I’ve had her for years.

      Same! I’ve had mine for about 4. This last winter I thought she was a goner! Phew!
