Does anyone know if there is ACTUALLY a way to separate Strelitzia pups without ripping them off and having no roots 😭 Every time I try to propagate them, this is what happens.

I am no expert and I don’t have one of these but I’ve separated multiple stems from one pot of a few plants, and I’ve had to break apart the soil to get to the roots. If you do it from just plant, I think you will break them off at the soil level. I use a pick to break apart the soil. You have to be patient and may help if soil is a bit damp. Then once you’ve exposed the roots, you can gently try to pull apart the stems holding the bottom close to the roots. That has been my experience and it’s worked well though you’ll lose a few roots. I will defer to the experts but since I saw that your plant soil was still intact, I thought this might be helpful. Also for the ones pulled already, they look like they could root in water with a couple of root drops. Good luck

Maybe that is where I went wrong. I was pretty impatient too tbh, and I just wanted to get it done. The mother plant's root ball is also so incredibly dense and root bound and it would be really difficult to cut into it. These pups were also literally attached to the mother plant and it looked like they had no roots but it was hard to tell. But that seems like good advice so I will try it next time.
