Helllppp! I’m trying to save this plant for my mama in law, but I don’t have experience with fiddle leaf figs. It was in a self watering pot and the soil is moist, but the leaves were dry, discolored and falling off. This is what’s left. I’m going to remove it from the self-watering pot, let it dry out, and start from there. Any other suggestions?

Volunteering to save a fiddle leaf fig for your mother in law sound like a horror movie and I can’t look!!! 😂😩🤣 I am so afraid of this plant because they are notorious for dropping a leaf just for being moved. I am wishing you so much luck. I pray you get the answers you need. Also you can look up care tips on YouTube. God be with you! 🤞🏽🙏🏾🍀

I have mine about 2 feet away from a south facing window and it is now over 6 ft tall. Once you find a good spot leave it alone. They don’t like to be moved around. Good luck…I’m sure you’re going to do great and it will flourish!

Good call on removing him from the self-watering pot. Mine likes to have the brightest window in my house, a well-draining chunky soil, and I water when he’s dry half-way down. I give him a diluted organic plant food almost every watering and clean his leaves every other month so that he can soak up all the light possible. I top his soil with sprinkled cinnamon to keep the pests away. 🌿

I have mine next to a south facing window and it’s loving it. Clean the leaves often. And talk to it :)
