Can anyone tell me what’s going? My peace lily was thriving two weeks ago (on right) and today she looks like this (on the left. The leaves are soft and won’t stand up. Can peace lilies be outside where they get watered by the rain? Or is this a plant that needs more deliberate timing with watering? I always check on her after rain to make sure she’s not sitting in water. Also check her soil to make sure it’s dry deep down before watering again. She’s in a spot that gets some direct sun and some shade based on the time of day (backyard faces west). Thank you in advanced for any suggestions on what to do next.

How cold is it outside where you are? Also, if it’s been raining a lot she might been overwatered.

I’m in south Florida. We had a bit of a “cold front” ( 🤪) last week. Weather was in the high 50s to mid 60s. Is that too cold for it to be outside?

Hi Traci, it looks like your peace lily needs a new pot, the roots may be too crowded in the pot. I have a peace lily as well that had similar issues. This is my lily now

Thank you. I will repot her this weekend. Yours is beautiful. Glad there’s hope to save her!

If you repot it, you probably shouldn’t leave it outside after; the roots shouldn’t get too cold while it’s trying to establish itself in a new environment. I’m not sure what the ideal temp is for plants following repotting, but I believe it’s around 65-70 degrees. Also because repotting is stressful on a plant, eliminating extra stress from the cold would help it bounce back faster.

Heading to get another planter today. We are getting a few days of colder weather tomorrow, so will be bringing all of my covered patio plants in for a few days. Thanks for your help.
