Good morning plant friends! I have a whole-house water softener and I wonder if anyone has recommendations for making the salt-treated water more potable? I am guessing she is extra sensitive to this water :(

for sensitive plants like goeppertia i usually opt for rain water. there should be a tap before your water softener in your basement or wherever that has filtered, hard water. when rainwater isn’t available i’ll use that with a little bit of aquarium water conditioner to minimize chemical irritants. i also add a touch of white vinegar to imitate rain water’s natural acidity. my plants love it

Thank you-I’ll give it a try! May I ask what you use to collect rainwater?

I agree! Since I’ve been using aquarium water conditioner for all my plants, I hardly ever see brown tips, even on the notoriously fussy (high-maintenance, spoiled 🙄) ones. I’ve never looked back since I started using it and I’d highly recommend adding a tiny bit to each watering can. My plants really love it.

Can you provide a picture of what you use or brand? Have you ever used that on a dragon tree or draecena on any kind? Those and my tradescantia nanouk are usually my brown leaf culprits.
