Anyone else actually name their plants and talk to them as they care for them? (I mean I name my chickens and talk to them too) I feel like my plants do better when I talk to them. Like “Good morning Paul McCartney, you’re looking mighty good this morning”. “Well hello there Sheldon, you look like you stayed out all night last night! You hungover or something? Need some TLC this morning?” My youngest daughter used to think it was funny but yesterday we went into Lowe’s to get some keys made and she wanted to go to the plant section. 🤣 She picked out a Monstera and before we even got out of the parking lot she name it “Keanu Leaves”. So I guess she’s hooked now. 👌

    Keanu leaves 🤣 that’s great! Yes, I talk to my plants & sing to them while caring for them 😅 I name my clearance plants, they’re always on the brink when I get them.. Clarence the clearance amaryllis came back from root rot, chonky Phil my $8 clearance split leaf philodendron was left in the sun outside of my local grocery store & got sunburnt leaves so bad that they had to be trimmed back.. he had roots coming out the bottom of his nursery pot. He’s regrowing steadily, new growth is an excellent sign 😁

      I love it! Salvaging plants make me so happy. We have one my daughter named Stanley after the book “Flat Stanley” because it was fal at a pancake when we got it off clearance and now it’s beautiful. But it’s a pothos so those bounce back. I got another plant the other day and since it’s a Philodendron Brasíl I named it Dr Phil Brasil. But you’re like me. Saving them is the best. Edited to add how I love how you put the plants in the bird cage and the little figures in the window are so cute!!! Is that a TMNT? It’s difficult to tell. My youngest daughter said last night she wants to get 4 String of Turtles and name them after each of the TMNT characters., I think one is fine but 4! Geeshh

      Dr Phil Brasil 😂 that’s hilarious Yes 👍🏻 my kids & I collect those little figurines.. there’s a tmnt, and baby groot ect They are decor birdcages, I keep my sons pokey cacti in them up high away from my toddlers curious little hands 😂 Then I liked how it looked & bought another for the other side that my pokey dragonfruit cacti is in 😁 Maybe convince her to get different kinds of strings of things🤷🏻‍♀️😂 I have string of fish hooks (I think they’re called) and some others.. Then she won’t have 4 of the same? I had string of turtles cuttings, but those just refused to root.. ugh The others seem ok tho, rooting steadily lol

    Yes! I have named all my plants; and I talk to them, entire conversations. 🤣 My cat has a first middle and last name, and I carry on full conversations with her as well. 😅

      My daughter and I were talking about this a few weeks ago about how we tend to have full on convos with our cats. Let my husband irritate me and my cats or plants hear all about it! (Whichever one is closer at the time I need to vent)🤣 And holy cow so I’m not the only who gives my cats middle names. They know they’re in trouble if I call them by their first and middle name! “Juniper Grace! What have you done???!!” Or “Clover Elizabeth, get off my table you know better!”😁

      I’m glad I’m not the only one, if Dory gets “Dory Doodles you stop that right now!” She knows I mean business! So far, my plants have not given me a reason to give them multiple names so I can full name them…but I’m not ruling it out in the future. 😂 P.S. those are some excellent cat names! And your daughter’s plant naming skills are on point 🍃
