I’ve been so focused on my fancy philodendrons and monstera this summer, I haven’t taken time to appreciate my colocasia and caladiums! Underrated plants. Beautiful colors and patterns

    What conditions do you grow your colocasia and caladiums in? Do you grow your colocasia outdoors and in just water? I haven’t had much luck with either and truly admiring your skills with these two beauties..

      Aw thanks ☺️ The frog in a blender caladium (light green) is in leca but the other two are in soil. They’re outside this year because I moved in with my partner and don’t have enough room for all my plants at the new place 🤣 I’ve had an extraordinarily wet summer, so I’m literally haven’t had to water them myself until the past couple weeks. They definitely do not like to dry out. So leca/hydro is a benefit there. When it gets chilly, I’ll let them go dormant so I can store the bulbs for the off season. I’m thinking of trying to squeeze the mojito colocasia inside for the winter though since it’s just so handsome
