Hello! I was gifted many plants (over 60… at once.. with no experience) and am in the process of educating myself all the different plants and their care schedules/needs. This one here is a lemon button fern and apparently is for a more advanced grower but I’m determined so here we are. Does this bb need a bigger pot or is this normal? I will continue to google and YouTube these questions but since I’m new to Planta I figured I would give these forums a try.

wow! good luck getting it out the pot. you may need to cut either the roots or the nursery pot to free it. i’d recommend also trimming as much dead foliage as you can, it’ll help light reach the remaining green leaves underneath

I have 2 rescue ferns and I am a newbie. This is Tina Turner and every day im amazed she is alive. They like to be a little root bound so dont get too big of a pot and get a humidifiers going.

Oh my goodness thank you all so much for validating my gut instinct! A bigger pot is officially on the to do list for this beauty. So, bonus question then, hypothetically speaking, could I trim these (not sure of the term but new growths?) and repot them in a smaller pot and start a new baby fern?

Depends on the cultivar some are rhizome growers so that might be the case here
