Hey friends! I’m currently having quite the dilemma with my plant babies—fungus gnats are still in the soil of nearly all my plants when I haven’t watered for two weeks. On top of that, my Maranta and newly-propagated Pothos are growing new mushroom residents, which I never had before. I kind of got fed up and doused my plants with a Neem oil solution (like 5 tablespoons ish of oil to one water bottle full of water). I’m worried that I might have accidentally put my plants at risk of dying to that. Should I be worried? All my plants do have drainage. Also, what are these tiny orange mushrooms? Are they good or bad?

Mushrooms are actually a sign of healthy soil! They're not gonna do anything to your plants but if u din't like them u can just pluck them out. Also for fungus knats use one part hydrogen peroxide and four parts water to water your plants! good luck :))

Honestly, I’ve had to repot and change the soil to get rid of fungus gnats. They somehow still thrive in dry soil. It’s been about 6 months and I’ve had a huge improvement. It sucks, and I still have them but it’s waaay better now. Mushrooms can be a sign of overwatering since they do well in wet/moist environments, but if like you said the soil gets to dry out really well I wouldn’t worry. I have a plant that regularly sprouts mushrooms and all is good and well with it.

I also vouch for mosquito dunks for gnats!

It looks like a lot of soil in your pot and very little chunky drainage such as perilite, sand, pumice, bark etc. Most plants need soil with drainage substrate added to it in various amounts depending on the type of plant. The more soil vs drainage means it stays wet longer which means perfect environment for gnats, root rot etc.
