How do you guys keep fungus gnats at bay? I’ve gotten dozens of glue traps scattered around but they fill up pretty quickly. I bought an electric fly/gnat trapper for my room and that seems to help, but in the living room it’s a massive issue.

I let my plants soil completely dry out, fly traps and then when the traps have had a week or so after the soil is dry, I make a ‘tea’ with mosquito bits. When the top soil is dried out, I sprinkle diatomaceous earth over the top! :) I noticed a difference about a week after that. Just keep replacing traps and maybe bottom water! Cleared mine up real good!

Thanks to a fellow community member I bought this for mosquitos and fungus gnats. Its BTI which is same active ingredient as Mosquito Bits, but without the headache of having to soak bits to make the tea. There is a dropper bottle with liquid inside tub. One drop in a gallon and done. So easy.

Omg amazing! I tried to shortcut the tea making by just putting mosquito bits on top of the soil. They got so nasty and moldy. Had to scoop top layers off all my plants. This product sounds perfect

Mix of water and hydrogen peroxide (3:1) and spray on top of soil. Also, when it’s bad a mix of apple cider vinegar with a couple of drops of dish detergent in a baby food jar set out by the plants.
1 mi piaceThe vinegar and soap water is excellent for trapping fruit flies. You need yellow sticky traps to catch adult gnats. They are not attracted to fruit fly traps.

1 mi piaceScoop out the top 2 inches of all your pots. This is where they lay their eggs. Throw it out or bake it in the oven to kill the eggs. This will help a lot.
