I was gifted some spider plant propagations in October and they took a while to do their thing after potting. All of them have started drooping like this. Is this normal or do they need something?

I think it’s just because there top heavy. You can rotate them to allow growth on the other side, or support it with a rod. Mine does the same thing

Has it been putting out new growth? Do you fertilize? Are you overwatering? I feel like its telling you it needs something…. I have 3 and they’ve never done this, and they seem to do really well if I let them dry-out over half way. Not saying that its not just because it’s top heavy like the person above stated! You could try a support stick, but if it continues and doesn’t get to a point when it’s upright again I would start to do some investigating. Check for pests, check the roots, etc.

I follow the apps schedule of every 10 days- I’m guessing that might be part of the problem. It does put out new growth but the tips of the old growth brown quickly

Use the app as a guideline…it seems (from community consensus) you’ll way over water everything if you water every time it tells you. Try using a wooden chopstick on watering day to check the soil before actually watering. Stick it to the bottom of the pot, dirt will stick to it at the level of moisture. Its a good way to see how far down your soil has dried out. If its still got lots of moisture then I “snooze” that task and check again next time it reminds me.

I agree that drooping is a sign it needs something. I have several varieties of all sizes. The neglected ones just fade from insufficient water and fertilizer. They never droop. The best performers need daily water in my hot and humid zone 9 patio. The inside ones get water every 2 days at most. All are in a sphagnum moss mixture potting soil. Diluted fertilizer twice a month in summer. All in plastic pots. All get bright indirect light. Never full sun.

it looks overwatered to me, and the fact that you’re following planta’s schedule probably isn’t great. i find i usually have to skip once or twice for my spider plants in potting soil
