Perlite is supposedly a great addition to soil for plants that want to be drier (succulents). But I am having trouble finding a listing of other common house plants that best benefit from adding it. Can anyone direct me to a list or directory?

I add it to the soil for all of my plants because it helps keep the soil less dense which prevents root rot! But in general, researching your houseplants natural environments should help you provide conditions where they can thrive. Sorry, I don’t know of a resource that provides a list.

It is particularly important to add drainage (perlite, orchid bark, etc) to epiphytes/aroids and philodendrons.
