I’ve had my snake plant, Charlie, for about a month or two now and I feel like it might be time to upgrade his pot… but I’m a first time plant mom and have no clue on how to repot a plant 😬 could someone give any suggestions? For sizing reference, this is a 6” pot.

Give it a 1-2 inch bigger pot (with drainage holes) and get some succulent soil. (A day or two before reporting, water it completely) When you start to repot it, massage the pot and grab the stem and pull it out. It should look like either the roots and circling around the bottom of the pot, or/and it’s mostly root and less then half soil. Gently tug the roots out of the ‘pot’ shape and try to get as much previous soil out of the roots as possible. Then put soil on the bottom of the new pot and place the snake plant and cover the roots with soil at the same height it was planted in the previous pot. Then firmly press the soil down AND make sure no roots are peeking out of the top of the soil. There! You’re done!

Aw what a beautiful snake plant. I love her pup there too. You know, if you wanted another snake plant all you have to is cut that off and pop it in another pot. I have 5 snake plants now from my Momma plant. ^.^

Thank you! I’m thinking about getting a few smaller pots for the others! There’s the baby that’s a few inches now, but there’s also another baby hiding in the back!

you could also plant the pup with her mom when repotting too! i have 3 little pups from my main snake plant and i repotted them all together in a slightly bigger pot and they’re pretty happy!

True! I was just worried that there wouldn’t be enough room for all the roots, but I think if I pick the right size pot they should be good 😊
