Can someone tell me why my monstera is browning like this 😭 it is a new baby leaf that has just unfurled, unsure of what is going on and what I can do

Check the roots. When a new leaf is already damaged it’s often a root rot problem.

And it looks like yellowing on the outer rim and the new leaf. Be VERY quick about it.

I repotted it yesterday, roots look super healthy. It may be because I was misting it constantly. I was also told the soil was bad. So when I repotted her, I used fox farm ocean mix with orchid mix potting which contained bark, biochar, clay, and coco husk!

If recently repotted, it might just be transplant shock. Sometimes freshly unfurled leaves don’t react well to change. The new leaf will be a lil damaged :( but unless you notice it spreading to other leaves or see more brown spots/patches developing on your plant, I wouldn’t worry for now. Just make sure to keep an eye on this one 🙂

It was prior to repotting! I got the plant with a new leaf! And I was misting it since I got it to make sure it had enough humidity. I did water it only once since I got it as well (if I recall correctly, I got the plant Saturday or Sunday of last week, and watered some time throughout the week of last week). I repotted the plant yesterday!

Ah okay I see! Yeah maybe it could have been the misting? Those new leaves can be so sensitive lolol. If your watering routine is normal, I would just monitor it to see if it gets worse before acting further. The trials and errors of plant care 🥴
