Hello! I’ve had this Macodes Petola for about 3ish years now. I switched it to sphagnum moss about a year ago. I think the pot was too big + no drainage the water retention was super high and I think it got pretty overwatered. The leaves have been a bit curled and faded for about a year now but the plant is still alive and hasn’t dropped leaves. 2 days ago I switched it to a smaller terra cotta pot w/drainage hole with a mix of sphagnum and perlite. Does anyone know if the leaves will bounce back, or have any general tips for good jewel orchid care? New leaves are coming in but I don’t want them to suffer the same fate. I don’t have much jewel orchid experience. I’m wondering if this is a lack of fertilizer issue as well.

I’m pretty new to jewel orchids too, but i do have this one and a few other varieties… this one i have in a closed glass vase/terrarium type vessel, with a lid with a few holes for some air but keep humidity up. I also have learned they actually prefer quite low light (think forest floor under-story plant). It might be getting too much light? šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Also, me thinks a terra cotta pot would not be right kinda pot since they leech away moisture.. those are really best for desert type plants.

Thanks so much! I’ll try repotting it and putting it in lower light.
