Cat friendly/non-toxic plant recommendations? I’m a brand new plant… | Foliage Plant Haven | Comunidad de Planta

Cat friendly/non-toxic plant recommendations? I’m a brand new plant parent but I also have 3 mosey cats. I waited forever to bring plants into the house because I was afraid of them making the cats sick, but I have been learning that there are some that are safe for the cats. What are your favorite pet friendly/non- toxic plants?

SAFE FOR CATS: Rattlesnake, calathea peacock, air plant, bromeliad, hibiscus, stag horn fern, impatiens, Boston fern, birds nest fern… almost any fern… echeveria (fav), Haworthia zebra, spider plant, most of the palms, neon prayer plant, money tree, polka dot plant, roses, sunflower, money tree, rubber tree plant (a favorite of mine), fish bone cactus, peperomia watermelon, mistletoe cactus, ponytail palm (though, this could incite more cat chaos, like, DO YOU SEE THIS CRAZY THING WITH THE DINGLE DANGLES?! Imma slap box it in the face, *hundred paw-slap attack*), red prayer plant, baby rubber plant, orchid, Venus flytrap, friendship plant, African violet, banana tree, gloxinia, mosaic plant, purple waffle, purple passion vine, Christmas cactus, German violet, baby’s breath, climbing and trailing begonia… I could keep going if you need 🫣 lol

My favs are calathea orbifolis, and peperomias! I also like snake plants and parlor palms, although I think the way those leaves hang/move attract my cats attention because he played with them so much I had to move out of his reach lol

I also keep wheatgrass out for mine at all times. It doesn’t last long, but I just keep growing it from seed and it sprouts quickly. Your cats can nibble on it and can keep their attention away from your other plants. It’s great for their digestion and has nutrients and antioxidants (:
