Why can I not for the life of me keep a thriving striped Calathea in my home alive. She just doesn’t like my apt no matter how much I try to give her humidity she just doesn’t grow. Ps I have a cat that eats her too

I had a couple Calatheas that “survived”. When they eventually died I stopped getting these beautiful, but horrific, plants 😂

Yep. Tough ones. I have many and my most successful is calathea network from Costa Farms. A beauty and tough

This is my second striped Calathea after the first one thrived for a couple months and then quickly died after. I’m gonna be so sad once this one dies bc I won’t try again :(

My caletheas are much happier in my crowded ikea cabinet greenhouse. It gives them the humidity that they need.

Hi there :) I have quite a few Calathea and the biggest problem most people run into is that they water with tap water. It works for some people, but for most it results in yellow and crispy tips. Try distilled or reverse osmosis water!! As soon as I started doing that I haven’t had any issues. Also remember to keep the humidity up 🤍 you got this
