I started growing this avocado seed and it was growing super fast. I think there was a drafr in the window and suddenly the tip was shriveled and black. I decided to trim that top part ofd but now the growth has completely stopped. any tips??? it looks like it might create an off-shoot on the left side ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If the roots are still health it will grow branches instead ☺️ Provide it with plenty of light and consider covering it with a plastic bag or glass dome to create a mini green house to promote faster growth 🌿

Hi! I just decided to try my luck at growing an avocado tree from seeds as well. May I ask how you propagated yours? I’m currently trying 2 different methods - water and in a ziplock bag with a damp towel wrapped around the seed.. it’s been about a month and I still don’t see any roots on either one… it does look like the seeds are cracking like yours is but I don’t know if that’s good or not 😅 If you have any pointers I’d appreciate it!

hey Mel! definitely. I have 3 avocado plants growingcurrently and all 3 I started growing using by placing a damp towel around it, putting it in a glass jar and placing it in a cabinet. I have tried the water method and never had any luck but I know my friends have!! For each of mine, I have had to re-wet or replace the damp towel before I fully saw roots forming. I would think the cracking is definitely a good thing! I planted mine once the root is about 3 inches because I read that avocado roots can be sensitive so its better to get them into soil before the roots are too long. Then, just mist everyday to keep the humidity up. I started placing a bag over this one because of the comment above so we’ll see if that works too.
