Does anyone have experience growing succulents in a terrarium? I want to replant mine from a regular planter into a globe terrarium and create a wonderful little landscape, but I’m concerned about ventilation. I can’t find any terrariums with additional ventilation holes and I don’t know how big the main opening should be if there aren’t any. Can anyone please advise? Thanks ahead of time! 🙏🏼

I’ve built many types of terrariums, both for tropical plants and for succulent plants. I would recommend that you use an open vessel for succulents. They don’t like too high humidity and can easily rot or mold if put in closed terrariums. Also make sure you create a good amount of well draining substrate layer. And last, but not least, place it in a sunny spot, but not too much direct sun☺️

Thank you for the advice! Do you think a globe or cube with one side open is sufficient ventilation? Sort of like a fishbowl on an angle?

That sounds like a perfect terrarium for succulents ☺️

Thanks! I’m going to try this with a couple of my succulents first to see how it changes their care schedule. I’ll post updates 😎
