This is a Blue Jelly Bean sedum that unfortunately started stretching and the leaves became farther apart due to the grow light being too far away. After moving the light much closer it has started to fill out and it is now growing really well. Since there is no way to really fix a plant that has grown like this, should I maybe cut the top part of this plant off and start another? It’s almost time to repot it anyway so I was thinking of planting the top and the remaining bottom in a pot together. If so, how much should I take off? 1/2? 1/4? What is the best way to do this to ensure success? I appreciate any advice!

These plants are actually very hardy and grow very well from props! I would chop it back below the halfway point when it started to grow leggy. You can stick the top half back into soil and it’ll root on its own. It’ll grow more at the cut point

I Totally agree with 9s ☺️👍 It looks like it’s time to behead your plant.

Thank you both! I will do just that! Should I leave it in its existing pot?

Yeah that should be okay! These guys don’t grow a lot of big roots so smaller pots are better so you don’t over water

I’m sorry but I have one more question..after I cut it do I need to let it scab over for a few days before sticking it in soil? Should I remove the very bottom leaves of the cut portion so that there is more of the stem to plant? I guess that’s 2 questions 🙂. Thank you again!
