Looking for some advice/diagnosis for my Alocasia Micholitziana. She just gave me a really small leaf. She is not root bound but also not in a big pot, just tight enough the way Alocasias like to be. She is about 1 feet away from an East facing window, so she gets good direct morning light. My humidity has been around 60-65% on average. Any idea why it is giving me smaller leaves? 😭 I want big dark leaves!

Well tricky one, all of the things you listed can cause small leaves but since it’s in a good sized pot, seems to get a decent amount of light and humidity I would check if it’s getting too much or too little fertilizer. Then it’s all about balancing it, a bit more light? A little less or more water each time etc. But you’re doing great! Just wished she would realize it as well! 😅

How young or old? Mine when I first got it, only grew small leaves. Now they are 2.5x larger - older leaves still grow larger and eventually fall off though

How many hours of day light do you currently get through that window? ☺️ maybe it gets enough light exposure but not enough amount throughout the day. ☀️

She gets about 4 hours of direct sunlight and the rest bright indirect light.
