Hello everyone ! I was just wondering if any of you have had success with pon & self watering pots? I’ve moved pretty much all my Alocasia to pon & they don’t seem to be doing well . I have my black velvet that loves it & my red secret so far. I’ve lost 2 plants. I’m debating on switching back to soil but I don’t know if they are trying to adjust or if I should get them out . It’s mostly the leaves turning yellow until there’s nothing left. It’s been about 2 months maybe .

I ran out of perlite so I put these babies in water about a month and a half ago ..here's how they're looking what should I do with them at this point ?🌱
Can anyone help me figure out what’s wrong with my bby she was so pretty even grew a new leaf but it didn’t end up making it. It was in a bigger pot because it had bigger roots at first (I’ve had this for over a year) never had problems but when I went to give it a more airy soil bc it wasn’t drying out (the soil) it stayed wet for more then a week it didn’t have much roots anymore could that be why?
I’m not 100% sure but yall I think that’s a new shoot on my baby Scarlett. I’m pretty sure I have chopped and leaf or two and it’s tryna shoot out maybe two new leaves will be keeping a very close eye on her!👁️ 👁️
I bought some black elephant ear bulbs at Walmart today and when I opened them they don’t seem right. They are kinda crunchy and dry looking and I’m not sure if that’s mold growing on them or not. I’ve never dealt with bulbs before so I have no idea if this is normal for them or not?
Any idea why this newest leaf is yellowish/green? I’ve had this plant for several months and it seems generally happy and is even growing another leaf. The pot has drainage and I water when the soil is dry or mostly dry. Humidity is usually about 50-60%.
My baby produced it’s very first leaf. So exciting.
Any idea why my alocasia babies have sticky, wet leaves than don’t unfurl and get damaged? Happening to all my babies at the moment.
HELP!! how do i help her ?? It’s a Alocasia Mickey Mouse..
Any help? I was given this plant and I’m not sure it’s healthy!
So these are my first two alocasias - Silver dragon and Reginae - and each has one leaf that is bending/folding the “wrong way”… I think? Is this normal for them to do this? Both plants seem to be happy and healthy (minus a couple little places on the tips of the leaves), but if they shouldn’t be doing this, what do I do to help correct it?
Any idea what this is I bought it this way but it has gotten worse so I clipped it. What a beautiful plant.🤍🪴
Anyone know where to buy Alocasia corms?
Didn’t plan on getting another plant today but found this little Maharani that had corms growing off the plant today and couldn’t pass it up. Ended up getting this along with 7 corms all for the price of one 😎!
Soo I was switching out my soil for a lot of my plants to a more chucky mixture and I found some sliver dragon corms and I’m so happy my first Alocasia babiess two of them already have good roots as well
Would love some advice please.. I’m fairly new to Alocasia’s and purchased this beautiful Stingray almost a month ago, It seems to be doing well and has recently sprouted two new leaves! I have never kept a plant in stratum & water before. What do I do about repotting when the time comes? I am fine keeping her in the stratum or transferring her to soil if needed but I’m not sure how that process would work or which one would be better. She seem really happy in the stratum. How would I go about moving her to a larger container of it when the time comes. I don’t want to ruin her! TIA & Happy Easter!
Hi there, I repotted my dragon scale to an aroid mix after over a year of being in typical potting soil. I also noticed that it started to get brown spots. Now that it’s in a new mix, it looks like it’s not liking it. Not sure what to do next? Help please
Help!!! I’ve been putting my alocasias in water to transition them to pon . It’s been going just fine until today I noticed the tip of a few of the corms are rotting. My Variegated frydek, Polly, Silver Dragon, and Dragons Breath all are having this issue. For now I put less water in so it doesn’t touch the rotten bottom of the corm. Except the Veriegated frydek, I put that one in a mix of fluval stratum, pon, & perlite. Should I take it out and place it in water too with the water not touching the very bottom? Problem is the plant is very tall and I’m not sure how to keep it from touching the water! It only has one leaf so nothing will grip to the jar I use, it will just fall straight in. Any info would be great because I have read numerous places that alocasia do not rot in water! I’m so frustrated.
hi everyone! here's my first ever alocasia :) just picked up this baby silver dragon and i would love some tips on how to better care for it. (previous owner already had it planted in pon)
