Omg omg omg! So many corms in my Polly. I’m excited!!! What’s the best substrate for growing them? I’ve got em in damp perlite right now. Wait. the cute little ice cream scoop pointy side goes up, right?

Can someone pls tell me what these yellow spot looking things are? She has been growing really well and producing leaves fast! However I want to try to fix this issue whatever it is 😭

So does anyone have corms you’d want to trade for a silver dragon corm? I’m wanting to try to grow a new plant from corm but I don’t have many options of plants in my Location. I had someone try to sell me a corm for $40, for a Polly 😑

Hi Folks, I’m flummoxed! This doesn’t look like all the images of Corms I’ve seen. They all had a long tail & a ‘slightly Pointed side’. This Pharos Mask Corm has a rounded side & a pointed side. Is the pointed side where I’d expect to see a tail attached to the mother plant? Meaning I’d plant it rounded side up? ‘No. 2’ That just doesn’t look right! However pointed side ‘No. 1’ just doesn’t feel right! #FailingAtTheFirstHurdle 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Got my dream alocasia today for one $20. I WIN I have this guy repotted in a peat poss, perilite, and all purpose potting mix. Any suggestions to keep this guy good and healthy is very appreciated as a beginner in the plant world. Drilled drainage holes im his pot as well.

Got all my corms ready to grow. (These are only 1/4 of what I have) In case anyone didn’t know, because I just learned the hard way. Arum and elephant ear corms/bulbs can cause extreme skin irritation. Luckily mine is minor but it’s plant poison and if severe enough needs medical intervention. Alcohol, degreaser soap, or plant poison soap and lots of washing is supposed to help. Hope somebody learns from my mistake. 😭

Bought it with the leaf yellowing but now I’ve noticed two other leaves following along , any suggestions? . It’s in a self watering pot , soil is moist humidity is at 90%

Is there anyone good at identifying baby/seedling Alocasia ? I know it can be hard because they are so small. I have someone who wants to sell me a few but she doesn’t have an id for them.

Finally finished my new shelves! The bottom shelf has all my alocasias! I can’t imagine what more an alocasia could possibly want, but I’m sure they’ll try to “unalive” themselves anyway :)

My alocasia amazonica has been home in the big box soil for over a month and she never changed. Today I decided to pop her out and take a look. The soil was infected with fungus gnats, the soil was too heavy and it was too much soil. Decided to downsize her pot in better soil and look at all my corms!!! I have moss on the way and I have terrarium cup but would love tips from any one with experience growing from corms! They’re currently soaking so I can remove the husks.

Just picked up my first Alocasia Reginae. All of the ones they had, had these on the stems. What is it?

Does anyone know what are these stems? My plant seems to be healthy it’s been pushing out leaves and no pests. I want to make sure I’m not doing something wrong

This is the center of my red secret Alocasia . It was slimy in the center. I just watered it yesterday. I cut it down as low as I could and squeeze the slimy stuff out.😩🩶🪴

I took a couple corms from my Silver Dragon Alocasia & they finally gave me their first leaves. Is that sport variegation on this leaf?
