Obsessed 😍
This is my first alocasia, and that little leaf spike has been the same size for the last 3 months lol. Is that normal? Are they usually super slow growers? Is there anything I can do to nudge it along?
Place your bets now on which/how many corms will survive! 5 frydek and 5 (plus that long one, I think it’s called a “stolen”?) golden bone. All skinned about half way, put about halfway in water, and in a glass terrarium. For those of you familiar with vine- “two bros chillin in a hot tub five feet apart cuz they’re not gay”
My Polly had 2 flowers simultaneously and gave me my first fruit 🥹
Bc apparently one bloom wasn’t enough! It’s also pushing another leaf 😱😭
Anyone know the exact name for this Alocasia? I’ve been looking but had no luck. I got it two weeks ago, thanks in advance!
wrong pot size/shape? i repotted my alocasia because the roots were growing out of the drainage holes. now i think this pot is so big it’s getting overwatered, and the roots are growing out the drainage holes again. any advice?
does anyone have an idea what’s going on here? the plant with one petiole had beef working on a new leaf a couple months ago and then it just kinda stopped growing. then it started growing again and all of the sudden it started drying up. recently the other plant started putting out a leaf and now i’m scared the same things happening! she’s been recently watered but i’m pretty careful not to overwater her.
Chopped anything that was dead and looked for corms. Left is a frydek and right is a golden bone. Any of these look ok? Also can I try again with the main part of the plant? That looks to be healthy. Thank you!
can some one please let me know what kind of Alocasia this is??????!!!
Was worried he wasn’t going to be very variegated but obviously love him anyway and then this leaf popped out *chefs kiss*
Strange Marking on Leaf: Hi all! Just wondering if anyone has experienced this - my new leaf recently unfurled on my year old alocasia Frydek and the top right area had a weird marking on it. Is this something that should be concerning? No signs of any pest and all of the other leaves are fine. Room has decent humidity (60-70%), and sits near a SE facing window, also watered with distilled water. Any advice is much appreciated!
My new variegated Frydek just arrived in the mail! It came in this cute little 2” pot and I’m super excited to finally have one. This was a little reward to myself for making the dean’s list last semester. ☺️
My new and second alocasia 😍 black velvet 🩵 she was in desperate need of new soil but had healthy roots. Hopefully this one likes me more than my Amazonica (who is fine but won’t give me any new leaves)
The baby plant is looking like that and I don’t know why. There is not much humidity in my room and I suspect why the tip of the baby leaf was dry. So I thought “Gee let me squirt some water on the Q-Tip and put some water on it” 🙄🙄😒😓 Fast forward, while I’ve put it under a grow light in hope to further stimulate growth to this baby plant, for some reason its looking the way it looks in the following picture (left; right is how it looked like originally). What does that mean??? Does it mean it’s dying?😭😭😭 I don’t only want my plant have two leaves! I never knew alocasia was SUCH a tough indoor plant (next to calathea😒😑)
I feel ashamed to say I lost both of my alocasias this month to spider mites 😞 should I throw them out or look for corms? Should I save the corms that already sprouted and try again? I’m not sure what to do at this point 💔
Does anyone know why the corms are growing above the soil instead of below? I have about 15 others growing in the same cabinet but none of them have corms above the soil. Weird 🤔
Just received a Dragon Scale baby in the mail! 😊 Excited to watch her grow 🪴
This fella is NOT doing well. Does anyone have any advice?
I need help identifying this cutie!🤍🪴
