This is the first alocasia I’ve ever had!! This is the newest leaf that it was already pushing when I bought it, does the leaf seem a bit yellow?? I saw something about banana peels helping for the phosphorus levels, but am not sure if this is how they just look! Also it is so droopy! I am mainly a pothos girl and this plant is stumping me. Any suggestions or info is appreciated :))

what it’s like to be into plants: neglected, cheaper alocasia from local nursery: four new leaves since brought home! and some pups! expensive, cared for alocasia from local plant shop: dying despite all measures

My loco alocasia was not growing the two months I had her. Leaves are yellowing and dry with no new leaves. Found the roots wrapped with the web of death! My new baby suffered. 😩

So my plant self fell about a week ago. It damaged 3 leaves on my pink dragon. I removed the 3 damaged leaves and I have new leaf unfurling… but it appears to be stuck? Is that possible and if so is there anything I should do?

I have some alocasia amazonica corms of several varieties I don’t think are on here however for now I want to ask which out of the “African mask” varieties is just the regular alocasia amazonica? I’ve only ever heard it called an African mask and all these fancy names on them confuse me. I know it is not a Polly however it’s the only one using a proper amazonica name.

My favorite local nursery put tropicals on sale at 75% off. So naturally I had to bring this gorgeous lady home. 😍

Got this Alocasia from Costco a few weeks ago. When repotting, I found a small sponge within the soil (also in a few other plants I got). After repotting the plant has continued to decline and I realized all the roots have died. Any advice on how to save?

If you have a Trader Joe’s near you RUN don’t walk. They’ve had a variety of Alocasia’s everyday. The black velvet and Sarian I got for $7.99 with the cute pot and the stingray I found today for $5.99! They are all healthy and thriving. I’m determined to find more varieties there. I also found a beautiful purple tarp elephant ear last week there and it’s doing great!

Just got this Silver dragon Alocasia from Costco I re potted it and it was super root bound but the roots were supper healthy and white. It had all of these corms on it some were already sprouted but i transferred them to sphagnum moss. And the best part is that its blooming!!!

Anyone else here a fan of the tiny dancer alocasia? I picked this lil guy up yesterday, owner said he had been sitting in the store for 2 months waiting for a new home. I LOVE HIM. His name is Elton John. 🌿

This Alocasia Bisma is likely the easiest Alocasia I have had. It grows much slower than some so stays nice without needing much fussing for longer. Here it is pushing out a flower and a corm, I didn’t see in the last repot, has taken root and is about to push out it’s first leaf.
