PRETTY BABY PRETTY BABY, alocasia’s are now one of my favs, I’ve got it in a general houseplant potting mix BUT when spring comes imma repot it into an aroid soil? Not sure of the spelling but YEAH. I’m also propagating some corns I unapologetically stole from it. Do y’all have any big leafy pretty alocasia recommendations? 🤭

Just here to prove that not all peat pods are death plugs! I decided to repot my polly into a chunkier mix and noticed it had the so called "death plug" aka peat pod seed starter. And while not many roots were growing in it, it was home to 6 baby corms 🥰. The remaining two corms were off of the main healthy root system. Now I suspect the manner in which corms grow allowed for this plug not to restrict root growth or encourage root rot, but that's just my speculation. Fingers crossed these babies do their thing! 🤞🏽 happy planting 🌱

I can officially call myself an Alocasia aficionado now that my extremely happy (has put out 3 new leaves this week) Silver Dragon has put out a flower (it has not fully bloomed yet). Anyone else have their indoor Alocasias bloom?! Any tips?! I’m thrilled

It’s been raining all morning! I was wondering if alocasia pollys like to be placed out in the rain?! I looked all over google and can’t find any information on it 😭 i just want to place her outside for a little rain water.

My colocasia mojito is so sensitive… I’m considering moving him to a different medium… if I do Leca, is there anything I can do to acclimate first or just go for it? I’m scared!

I posted my sad alocasia zebrina yesterday. I have been doing some research and think I’m going to try her hydroponic bc I’ve always had luck with that, but SCARED at the same time. Any tips would be appreciated as this is my first alocasia and we are not off to a good start. Wish us luck✨🤟🏻 (Reference pic of her current sad state)

Thinking of getting these off Etsy, does anyone have any suggestions as to different sellers or know if this a good deal?

Help! One of the stems on my black stem just broke 🙁 i noticed a few days ago the stem started drooping and today when I watered it and left for a few hours, I came home to the stem completely bent. Do I cut it off or just let it die some more? Help me 😭

I bought a wish list plant today 🥰 And I specifically bought this little Alocasia Black Velvet rather than any of its friends because this one has 3 little babies peeking out!

Hi there, everyone, I am very new to the Alocasia plant. I unfortunately lost my first plant but saved these corms . They are currently in Spagna Moss. My question is I’m not sure how long they sit in Spagna Moss and or would it be better for me to move them on to soil or leca ?

Why is she droopy? I reported her a couple of days ago and she’s been dripping ever since. I using all moisture soil with a mix of peat moss and perlite like I did with my other alocasias but she just doesn’t look happy🥲
