What is the best way to check for corms and how often do you do it? I have a Dragon Scale Albo that is a nice size that probably has some nice corms under the surface; She is in pon if that makes a difference

So i got a beautiful Alocasia Polly, and unexpectedly found ten corms when I repotted. In my panic, I went with the puddle method as it was the easiest to do with what I had and I’ve heard good things. Has anyone else used this method or another that they could give me advice on? It’s my first time getting corms so i’m excited and nervous! Mother plant is doing amazing and has a new leaf coming in too 🥰 TIA!

My first alocasia! It was $4 on the sale rack at Lowe's. I repotted and divided into individual plants. Gonna try this self watering terracotta pot I got on clearance at Walmart. 🤞 When reporting I even found a corm!

What type of alocaisa do y’all think this is? All my app scanners tell me it’s an amazonica Polly but all my Polly’s have more of a ruffled edge to the leaf this one is little more smooth. It could be a Polly I’m just not sure!

*UPDATE!!! When you are plant obsessed and you go to your garden shop for leca… 😅😅😅she’s so beautiful! I hate that she’s going to have to live outside but her size! 😍😍😍 Soooo… she isn’t going to live outside after all. She will live in my new 45 gallon tank. Currently she’s all washed up and in LECA to acclimate white I get the components needed to get the tank plant ready. But it has been decided!!

Am new here. Posted this same question under Pest/Problems before seeing this group. Bought this Polly last week in perfect condition. Repotted into stratum/perlite & the next day this spot appeared. Any thoughts on cause?

I have 2 nursery black velvet alocasia and was wondering if it will be okay to pot them together? One just sprouted a new leaf and I’ve heard some say that plants grow better together but Im not sure if mine are still too young to do that. They’re in about 3” nursery pots right now so I was thinking both in a 4” pot maybe? I haven’t checked the root size yet as I just got them a week ago maybe and don’t know if the root system is too fragile to handle right now…

Some varigated kids

Hey all! I just got two new variegated alocasia frydek babies in the mail today. I’m pretty good with philodendrons and monsteras, but I’m a first time alocasia owner. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Help! when I bought this zebrina she was drowning in water, I had to immediately repot her but she hardly had any roots when I did, she’s sad now. Any tips?

I’m fairly new to alocasias. Are these baby plants in my black velvet?

Omg. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? All of my other plants are thriving except for this guy (and a succulent lol long story). He has grown a little taller since I've bought him, but no new growth. I've actually had to cut a few pieces from a couple damaged leaves, but I thought all was good! I did that day one and weeks went by, no stress was shown. I did however remove some mesh that was entangled around the roots as I've heard that was good to do. I was careful, but I think it may have stressed him a bit. A week or so later he had some leaves drop (stem and all 😭). Roots look healthy and it's been probably 2 weeks since I removed the mesh, I figured he would have settled down by now if stressed. Woke up this morning to ANOTHER dropped leaf! What am I doing wrong? Should I give him more sun? Less sun? Soil is still moist. I'm at a loss, please help! The leaf that's hanging is mushy, yesterday it was fine!

My silver dragon had 8 babies. These 3 corms (one is still attached to mom) other 4 are baby silver dragon plants. Should I plant the corms? Sell them? I’m not sure what to do? I have never had a plant do this (I do know they make corms).
